CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
About GYROKINESIS®~

GYROKINESIS® is a small group format within the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®. It requires minimal equipment and is practiced mainly on low stools, on the floor and standing. Though classes are offered at two different levels of detail and challenge, each class develops a learning pace that is unique. So before you jump in, let’s talk–we want to ensure that the class you choose is the best possible fit for you!

GYROKINESIS® LEVEL ONE
For beginners or students who enjoy a slower pace and more detail. Covers basic dynamics for healthy movement with a special focus on breathing, proper core use and spine strength and flexibility.
GYROKINESIS® LEVEL TWO
Movement and breath are seamlessly connected to stimulate multiple systems of the body while increasing coordination, stability and mobility. A dynamic physical and energetic workout. Previous experience or being generally healthy and injury-free recommended.

About STRENGTH INTO MOTION~

Strength into Motion is a unique workout that builds more than muscle. Clubbells® are tapered, weighted clubs that are swung rhythmically through the body’s full range of motion, creating strong, balanced and coordinated movement in every direction. It decompresses joints and tissues and develops more buoyant, elastic connective tissue, increasing the body’s resiliency against falls or sudden impacts. Clubs come in a variety of weights; students are matched to the weight appropriate to their fitness level. Students from age 15 to their 90’s can participate safely.
Strength into Motion, developed by Julie O’Day, is based on principles of healthy movement found in yoga, Alexander Technique and Gyrotonic® Training.

GENERAL INFORMATION~

Classes are typically held even during inclement weather. In the event that classes need to be canceled, every effort will be made to email all studio students two hours before class begins.
We strive to be a scent-free environment! Please avoid using scented products, like perfume or lotions, before class as many people have chemical sensitivities.
Comfortable clothing is recommended, especially layers that you can remove when warm and put back on when cooler.
